Encarsia formosa + Eretmocerus eremicus
Pack size: 10,000 pcs (250 cards, 40 individuals each), cards
Encarline Mix combines two whitefly parasitoids – Encarsia formosa and Eretmocerus eremicus. It controls greenhouse whitefly (Trialeurodes vaporariorum) and silverleaf/sweetpotato whitefly (Bemisia tabaci): younger larvae are killed by host feeding, older larvae by parasitism. Eretmocerus copes better with high and strongly fluctuating temperatures, so the combination of both species gives reliable control throughout the season. Produced by Bioline Agro Sciences.
Encarline Mix – Encarsia formosa and Eretmocerus eremicus against whitefly
Pack size: 10,000 pcs (250 cards, 40 individuals each), cards
Encarline Mix contains two hymenopterous parasites: Encarsia formosa and Eretmocerus eremicus. It controls the younger larvae of whitefly by host feeding and the older larvae by parasitism (reproduction).
Target pests
- greenhouse whitefly (Trialeurodes vaporariorum),
- silverleaf / sweetpotato whitefly (Bemisia tabaci).
Key features
- broad-spectrum control of whitefly,
- efficacy at a broad temperature range,
- saves time when you cannot identify the whitefly species.
How it works
Eretmocerus eremicus is better adapted than Encarsia formosa to high temperatures and to temperatures that fluctuate strongly from day to night. Where the two are used together against Trialeurodes, Eretmocerus becomes dominant during periods of hotter weather. Using the two species in combination therefore provides improved control of whitefly throughout the season.
Application
- Open the box in the greenhouse.
- Separate individual cards along the perforations, always handling them by the top – this prevents damage to the pupae in the card recess.
- Place or hang the cards in a shady position level with the lower leaves, avoiding contact with the growing media.
- Distribute the cards uniformly throughout the crop.
Packaging and storage
Hanging cards – 15,000 pupae on 250 cards (60 pupae per card), or 10,000 pupae on 250 cards of 40 individuals. Blister packs are also available – 10,000 pupae in 40 blisters (each blister producing at least 250 adults). Store in a cool, shaded place and use as soon as possible after receipt.
